Help with Finances, Taxes, and Benefits

The COA can help you make ends meet, prepare your taxes, and make sure you are getting all the benefits you deserve.


The COA offers a variety of presentations and programs given by experts to help you understand legal, financial, and benefit-related issues. See the monthly newsletter for more topics, dates, and times.


Each year in February and March, trained volunteers offer preparation of state and local tax returns through the AARP/IRS Tax Aide program. Check the monthly newsletter beginning each January for more information.



(Serving Health Information Needs of Everyone) (MA Exec. Office of Elder Affairs and Minuteman Senior
Services) Counselors are available to give help regarding health insurance, medical bills and long-term care. Call the COA to make an appointment.


Need help paying fuel bills? Call Abby Butt or Susan Isbell to see if you qualify for Fuel Assistance, a Massachusetts program providing help to income-eligible residents to pay for fuel. The Fuel Assistance Program operates November through April.
