COMPREHENSIVE LONG RANGE PLAN COMMITTEE
Charting the Course for Lincoln's Future



Preface:
The Planning Board is charged with making a Comprehensive Long Range Plan for the Town of Lincoln. Such plans are designed to provide the basis for guidance, coordination and accountability to future decision makers regarding the long term physical development of the community. The Planning Board, with the input of other Boards and Commissions, shall appoint a Comprehensive Long Range Plan Committee (CLRPC) .


The Comprehensive Plan was accepted at a Special Town Meeting on October 17, 2009. An Implementation Committee will be formed to follow up on its recommendations.

The history of the Plan's preparation by the Comprehensive Long Range Planning Committee, with the help of consultant Community Opportunities Group, is set out below.

Statement of Purpose:

The Comprehensive Long Range Planning Committee (CLRPC) is charged with preparing the plan in accordance with state guidelines including goals and policies, land uses, housing, economic development, natural and cultural resources, open space and recreation (including an open space plan), services and facilities, circulation and transportation, and an implementation plan to achieve the objectives of each element.

In the fall of 2007, the Comprehensive Long Range Planning Committee established the following Subcommittees, each which worked on drafting goals and recommendations. The Subcommittees were disbanded in January 2009 after a plenary session to discuss cross-cutting issues. The Steering Committee continued. Each Subcommittee has a dedicated web page:
