To know and understand Lincoln’s conservation ethic is, in a very real sense, to know and understand this community.

Lincoln has a unique history of thoughtful and collaborative land preservation and acquisition techniques; the guiding principles of which have brought to Lincoln to the forefront of preservation, both domestically and abroad.

The Conservation History project, currently underway, seeks to preserve Lincoln's rich, conservation history and bring it forward to new generations in a variety of formats including:
  • a documentary film,
  • shorter web films,
  • collection, organization and archival of relevant documents and trail maps,
  • digitization and organization of historic conservation photographs, and 
  • educational components developed with the Lincoln Public Schools.
