Celebration Committee

Flags & Fifes
Lincoln's Fourth of July 2007
Schedule of Events

Mission Statement:
The Celebration Committee, under the direction of the Lincoln Recreation Department, coordinates Lincoln’s Memorial Day Observance, July 4th festivities, and Summer Series at Pierce Park; and supports Patriots Day activities.

Our Events:
Memorial Day Observance: On Monday, May 28, the Lincoln Girl Scouts invite you to a ceremony honoring our veterans and remembering those who sacrificed their lives in serving our country. At 10:00 a.m., Lincoln's American Legion (Post 84) and Veterans of Foreign Wars (Post 5239) will gather at Bemis Hall and lead a march down the hill to the Lincoln Public Library. Other veterans and civilians of all ages are invited to join the march. At the library, Girl Scouts will lay the Memorial Wreath. A firearms salute will be delivered and taps will be sounded, followed by an invocation, keynote speaker, recognition of all veterans, and the singing of the national anthem. In the event of rain, the Observance will take place inside Bemis Hall.

Lincoln 4th of July: The town’s biggest community event, the 4th of July draws hundreds of visitors from neighboring towns to watch the parade, enjoy a summertime barbeque, and sit under a massive fireworks show.
