COMMISSION
Mission Statement: The mission of the Housing
Commission is to 1) maintain existing and 2) create additional
affordable housing so that we might preserve the economically
diverse population that has historically been a key element
in the small town identity of Lincoln.
To fulfill this mission the Commission will work to increase
housing diversity by pursuing housing opportunities for certain
targeted populations, including, but not limited to: seniors
on fixed incomes, town employees, and children of present
and past residents.
The Commission will continue to manage houses rented or owned
by the town in an efficient, effective and equitable manner
in accordance with its mission. .
Committee Members: Renel Fredriksen (Chair), Pam Gallup, George Georges, Phyllis Mutschler, BJ Scheff, Mary Sheldon (Council on Aging
Representative).
Meetings: Second and fourth Tuesday of each
month at 7:30 AM in the Town Offices.
Service Description: The Lincoln Housing
Commission is the primary housing group in the Town. Five
residents serve on the Housing Commission. The Town elects
three members, the Selectmen appoint one member, the state
appoints one member, and the Lincoln Council on Aging appoints
a liaison. The Housing Commission is subject to control by
the Town Meeting as it is not a corporate entity.
The Housing Commission works with the Lincoln Foundation,
Rural Land Foundation, Affordable Housing Trust, Community
Preservation Committee, HOME Consortium, and others to support
our mission.
