The Department of Public Safety includes the Fire Department
and Police Department supported by E-911/Dispatch. The Department
of Public Safety is continually striving to enhance the quality
of life in Lincoln by working to create a safe and secure
community environment.

Police Department Staffing
The Police Department is staffed with 13
full-time officers, broken down as follows: 1 Chief, 1 Lieutenant,
3 Sergeants, 1 Inspector, 7 Patrol Officers and 1 Traffic
Enforcement Officer.
10 Part-time, Special Officers supplement
the full-time officers in filling details and special events
request for the department.
Police Department Service Coverage
- Patrol - 2 marked patrol units 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week Investigative/court
- Traffic Enforcement - all uniformed officers as part
of patrol function
- Traffic Enforcement Unit - 1 officer
- 2 traffic speed monitoring devices
- 1 motorcycle
- Juvenile/D.A.R.E. - Involved with juvenile matters within
the community as well as teaching in the public school -
grade 5 students
- Bicycle patrol as a part of routine patrol and special
events/functions
- Safety Officer - schedules radar enforcement, school
bus safety and child passenger safety seat inspections
- Firearms licensing officer - All Class I & II license
to carry
- Proactive hands on involvement with Lincoln Schools K
- 8 and L.S.R.H.S. and Carroll School and wellness program
participation
- Partnering with various Town Department heads and committees
to include, Traffic Committee, Council on Aging, DPW, Conservation,
working together to address issues of mutual concern.
