2021 Annual Town Meeting

Town Meeting Sign April 2021The 2021 Annual Town Meeting is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. - Hartwell Parking Lot.

In the event that business is not concluded on Saturday, the Moderator will reconvene Town Meeting on Sunday May 16, 2021 at 9:30 AM  - Hartwell Parking Lot.

Annual Town Election will be Monday, March 29, 2021 at the Smith School.

Deadline Announced for Annual Town Meeting Petitions

This year’s deadline for submitting citizens’ petitions for our May 15, 2021 Annual Town Meeting is Monday, March 22nd at noon.  Citizens who are considering sponsoring a Town Meeting petition are strongly urged to contact the Town Clerk’s Office (781 259-2607 or foxv@lincolntown.org) for information about the process. 

Last year, as a COVID precaution, the Select Board decided that the citizens’ petitions that were submitted for inclusion on the 2020 Annual Town Meeting warrant would be deferred to 2021 in the interest of limiting the duration of the June 2020 Town Meeting. The 2021 Town Meeting warrant will include the petitions that were deferred from last year and any new petitions that are received prior to the March 22nd deadline. Although the Warrant will be expanded this year to include citizen petitions, we will again be adhering to meeting efficiency measures in order to keep Town Meeting to under three hours.  In the interest of helping the Select Board limit the duration of Town Meeting, we ask citizens for careful consideration before suggesting additional petitions this year. 

Petitions that will be carried over from last year include: gender neutral retitling of the Board of Selectmen; gender neutral amending of the Town’s bylaws; a variety of climate initiatives; and an update on Community Center planning.
