FID/LTC Applications and Renewals
To apply for or renew a FID or LTC:

- Complete a Massachusetts FID/LTC Application in its entirety
- Complete a Lincoln FID/LTC Application in its entirety
- First time applicants must successfully pass a Basic Firearms Safety Course and submit certification with their application.
- HANSCOM AFB: Active military personnel must bring a letter from their commanding officer in lieu of a basic firearms safety certificate
Completed applications, safety certificates, and military letter should be delivered or mailed to;

Applicants will be contacted to arrange an appointment to be fingerprinted and complete the application process. At this time, applicants must also bring:

Applicants may call the Department of Criminal Justice Information Services (DCJIS) at 617-660-4722 during business hours (Monday - Friday between 8:00 am to 6:00 pm). Persons looking to retrieve their PIN may also contact the same number. You must have the following information ready to receive any information;
Change of Address
Massachusetts law requires any change of address must be reported within 30 days of moving. A Change of Address Form must be completed and mailed via certified mail to the following;

- Application fee: $100, payable by check only (fee waived for persons over 70)
- Proof of residency or business in Lincoln or Hanscom AFB
- Valid government-issued photo ID
- RENEWALS ONLY: Current FID or LTC

- Date of Birth
- Driver's License Number

- The licensing authority that issued your current firearms license
- The Chief of Police of the city or town you moved to
