IMPORTANT UPDATE: 

To address the excessive amount of weeds that are deterring turf growth on our athletic fields, the Parks and Recreation Department is applying a one-time application of Quinclorac (see product information on our website) in compliance with the Town's Integrated Pest Management Plan. This is a common application to treat athletic field weeds that is routinely administered in other communities.  We do not apply weed control annually, but have determined that current conditions warrant treatment. 

The application schedule is as follows:

AUGUST 21-25: Town Office Field is closed this week. Ballfield Road fields will be open for use.

AUGUST 28 - SEPTEMBER 1: Ballfield Road fields (Smith, Codman, Brooks, Paddock) are closed this week.  Town Hall field will be open for use.

We are contracting with Trugreen to apply the product.  Skin irritation is possible if you come into contact with the product before it dries, so we want to make sure everyone stays off the fields for 5 full days to ensure maximum safety precautions.  Signs will be posted at all fields prior to application.
