Upcoming March Events for Lincoln’s Leaf Blower Study Committee – Residents Welcome!
Lincoln’s Leaf Blower Study Committee (LBSC) has 2 events schedule in the New Year.
On Tuesday, January 6th at 7:00 pm, the Committee will host a Public Forum to present a draft version of leaf blower regulations begin considered for adoption at Town Meeting 2015.We are seeking public feedback before we draft the final language, so this is an important meeting to hear from you! The Public Forum will be held in the Donaldson Room at Town Offices, 16 Lincoln Rd, Lincoln.
On Saturday, March 28th, the committee will present its research and recommended regulations at Town Meeting.
The Committee has considered a wide range of source materials, including reports from national and international organizations, scientific articles and videos of leaf blower work in Lincoln. These materials as well as the Committee’s reports, minutes and agendas are available on the LBSC’s web page on the town web site (go to lincolntown.org, select Government/Boards & Commissions/Leaf Blower Study Committee.)
As authorized by Town Meeting 2013 (Warrant Article 41), the LBSC exists to study noise and air pollution resulting from increasing use of leaf blowers for public and private property maintenance, to research alternatives to use of leaf blowers, to study the cost impacts to both public and private sectors from those alternatives, and to present findings and recommendations.
The Committee’s regular meetings are held every other Wednesday. Our 2015 meetings will be held on 1/7, 1/21, 2/4, 2/18, 3/4 and 3/18/15 from 7:30-9:00 am at Town Offices. The meeting schedule is also on the town calendar.
